Wire announce 2011 tour dates Consequence of Sound Wire announce 2011 tour dates
As previously reported, the English post-punk trio
Wire were readying the release of their 12th studio album,
Red Barked Tree, for release in early 2011. The album, their first since 2008’s
Object 47, is a milestone for a band who have been together nearly 35 years. So, undoubtedly, such a milestone deserves a fairly sizable touring schedule, right? In an announcement today, the band were more than overjoyed to comply. Except with the sizable part.
So far, just nine dates for the month of April have been announce. With the first gig scheduled on April 1st in Toronto, ON (because Canadians are fools!) the rest of the tour stops in Boston, MA, Brooklyn, NY, Austin, TX, and beyond before wrapping up on April 12th in Portland, OR.
