Singer and ex-Terminator robot Shirley Manson has taken to her facebook to reveal that she is currently recording new tunes with her band, Garbage!!!

At the very bottom of the post she writes,

It's been five years since the band released an album!! We can't wait!! We LOVE us some Garbage!!

I don't think the fact that they were in the studio for a week necessarily indicates that they're releasing a new album. They could just be recording a song or two for an unrelated project, not necessarily making a new record themselves.

I'm sure they're testing the waters, but it sounds like the objective is a new album.

I can't see her being as ****-teasy as to post that entry if it wasn't something Garbage related.

And what else would Garbage be releasing at this point? They've already put out a greatest hits, and they've been gone so long I doubt the offers to appear on soundtracks are pouring in. Charity singles are also out of the question, since it almost certainly costs more to get them all together to record than the tens of dollars they could potentially raise for any given cause.

Since they've never officially broken up, and have spoken of probably releasing a new album at some point, that seems like the most obvious scenario.

however they do have some amazing b sides like Happiness and April Tenth that really are incredible sounding and different than their album work. but i do have to agree that their last album was really bad after a couple listens and the third is a hot mess camp factory.

that being said though it's really impossible to hate shirley. she is hot and vulnerable and very self conscious. i love her.

even though i still can't believe she is in that awful she wants revenge video.
