Well, obviously, I don't know about music as most of you, and I originally joined
KR back in 2006 because I wanted to learn from you.
That said, I have been following Hole for a decade, and the cover of LTT pretty much represents what Hole symbolizes to me. I think of the sound of Hole as the sound of a glamorous face with feminine features hiding anger, depression, suicidal thoughts and all of the elements to which
Courtney's lyrics typically allude - bitterness, coldness, rage, hysteria and revenge.
I have never cared about Hole musically wise as much as I did lyrically wise - I never cared about which musical style the band embraced - experimental, grunge or pumpkin-like -, as long as the elements to which the lyrics alluded remained intact. The Joan Crawford-based elements.
On a very personal level, what I have seen so far (scattered glass, high hell, pictures of
Courtney dressed as a widow/bride and smoking) symbolizes what Hole means to me.
