have you read about new coke? everyone didn't really care except a small proportion that kicked up such a huge fuss that the product had to be withdrawn because they bullied everyone to agree with their view.

well new AIC is like that.

which is why i think this thread is not getting huge attn. everyone wants to hate it so much the actual music being good doesn't make a difference.

I'm with you on that point. I've been watching this thread to see what people have to say, and I'm also surprised by the lack of response.

I do think this new stuff is pretty decent by their standard. Not 100% but better than we've seen of other comebacks, clearly.

For me, my music tastes have moved on a bit and it's difficult for me to get excited about it. But certainly I appreciate it. I'm not sure if I'll buy the album. I might give it a spin (illegally) and see how I feel about it. It may or may not have me. I don't know.

There's some merit there. I feel like I miss Staley's lyrics, but I'm not sure if I'm just emoting myself into feeling that way. Either way, a definite nod in Cantrell's direction.
