Your fave punk era?

What are your favourite bands or artists?

Do you think punk is dead? If so, why or why not?

There is the music, the subculture associated with the music. There is the fashion and ideologies, visual art and there used to be a punk fanzine in the 70's. Do you indentify with any of them?

a list of the era's:

New Wave
Post-punk
Hardcore
Oi!
Anarcho-punk
Pop punk
Other fusions and directions
Legacy and later developments
Alternative rock
Emo
Queercore and riot grrrl

I like oi, crust, anarcho, hardcore, post punk, punk reggae, all different stuff really.

Don't really have a favorite artist or band but there are a few that I listen to more regularly. As for whether or not punk is dead, couldn't give a single shit. It just seems like the dumbest argument ever.

I'm really over categorizing.

I have 2 categories: good music and bad music.

But to add some bands - Alaska y Dinarama, Nina Hagen, Lene Lovich, Lydia Lunch's "Queen of Siam" album and her Teenage Jesus & The Jerks album are still on heavy rotation on my Itunes. Classify them how you want.

And I want to say I think people who 'listen' to music identify with all that stuff, it doesn't matter what scene or genre it is. Music scenes are kind of like religion. There's thousands of them and they all look different but have the same exact meanings.

What's the difference between German Wave and all that other shit?

It's all the same shit, I don't know why everything has to be broken down into 80 different categories.
