| | | Record 'o' the Month Clubs? Are there any still around?
I fear that with the internet the mail order record of the month clubs have lost the tiny niche they had, or at least it's become microscopic. I really want to join one to discover new bands without my interweb, 30-second-snippet cynicism getting the best of me.
Any ideas? Huh?

But seriously HG...you're an omniscient moderator of an internet messageboard...surely you would know of any that still exist. |

Sub Pop used to do it and K used to do it, I think. Where it was a single of the month club and they would just send you random new artists that they'd signed that had releases out.
Apparently they don't exist anymore since no one know what I'm talking about. Oh well. |

| | | oh, THAT kind of record club!!
Go to an independent records store (actually, even some places like Tower might have this) and check out the 'zines. I bet if you leaf through them, you'll find something.
Also, I think the CMJ has a CD/per month option if you subscribe. Again, not exactly what you're looking for, but it's something! |
