I saw them in the mid 90's at some student union venue, I think it may have been the University of London or some such place, it was amazing to see these diminutive Japanese girls kick butt, I remember the place being showered in jelly beans. Good times, indeed. It was weird watching a more recent clip of a Shonen Knife gig on YouTube because the vast majority of the audience were late 30 something balding guys, who were obviously hard core "knife collectors".

yeah, they're definitely in my top 5 bands or so. even their more recent output is still pretty good, although i'll admit they've put out some duds. basically everything from their first album in 83 up until about 1997 is almost flawless.
