me too. i play a couple of songs over and over, then hear a bit of another song on the album and do the same. then i end up picking 3 or 4 goodgood songs i will play off it and ditch the rest. i'm basically tony blackburn, right?

i have done this. i'll also edit albums (hi tori amos and your 79-minute records) and take out the weaker songs, sometimes replacing a few with appropriate b-sides from the same period.

if i am listening to CDs at home on the stereo, i always play the album through unless i stop it before it finishes. with records, though, i'll sometimes only play particular sides.

Yeah, I usually listen to albums from start to finish. It makes your favourite track all the more special when you come to it. I like to listen to the artist's album catalogue in chronological order too, to see how they've progressed. I wouldn't obsess about it, though.

Sometimes I think about it as I consider how the album could be improved, but I wouldn't actually re-arrange them.

i never listen to just one song. ever. i listen to albums and then i review them in some silly stupid site. lol
not that i get paid. but i need to express what i think about an album before i put it on a shelf, in the back of my mind. on to the next.

i don't really bother with albums anymore and lots of times i don't even listen to the songs straight through either. for example, i almost always skip past "reeling" after the "blah blah blah shit hit the fan" line.

the rest of the song doesn't matter once i've gotten mine.
