Thumbs up Best Opening Acts

Was reading the worst opening acts thread and it made me think of the best ones i've seen. These ones almost made me overlook the main event...well almost

Everclear opening for Silverchair in 1996
No Doubt opening for RHCP in 1996
Eagles of Death Metal opening for The Distillers in 2003 (i think!)
Florence and the Machine opening for Courtney last year
DJ Shadow before Radiohead in 1997
Asian Dub Foundation before Primal Scream in 2000
The Locust opening for Yeah Yeah Yeahs in maybe 2005

Oh anyway, i'm sure there's a ton more...i've mostly stopped checking out the support acts at gigs unless i know them. I really shouldn't do that.

i saw asobi seksu opening for ladytron last month and it was goood!

sons and daughters, they were supporting Morrissey years ago and i remember being gutted cuz Tiger Army were the original support (they had a falling out with Moz apparantly) so S&D filled the slot instead

anathema who are one of my fave bands supported Porcupine tree

and i also really liked:

vincent vincent and the villains when they supported art brut
foxface opening for idlewild
yeasayer before beck in manchester
and i recently saw fuck Buttons open for Mogwai who were both grand!
