childhood music

did your family like music when you were little? do you remember any songs they used to play?
what were your favourite songs? (even if you just liked a song from a tv programme/character, or theme music or something)
were there any songs that you hated or that frightened you?
did anyone sing to you when you were wee? if so, what songs?

my mother used to sing what shall we do with the drunken sailor to me, and for some reason it now has a haunting and mysterious quality to it that i don't understand.

My dad used to belt Paradise City by Guns and Roses whenever he was in a good mood. And there was always lots of Slade playing!!

when I was a kid I don´t remember disliking anything. Everything that was music was good enough. I think my dad´s records were very influential, my favorite ones used to be by pink floyd and the rolling stones, simon & garfunkel, kim carnes. And my mom used to buy me many records and play me like bossa nova stuff she´d teach me to sing, and loads and loads of disco compilations, I guess because they were cheap and I was always asking her for a new one. Yeah, disco.

I also liked everything I heard on the radio, I remember loving elton john and tears for fears, as well as duran duran, sinead o´connor, I liked everything.
