Boss Hog Returns To Live Duty

After an eight-year hiatus, New York band Boss Hog swung into action for a show last week at the All Tomorrow's Parties' Nightmare Before Christmas festival in Somerset, England, and another at New York's Bowery Ballroom tomorrow (Dec. 17). But don't call it a comeback quite yet.

"We're waiting until we've played all the shows, and then we're going to sit down as a band and discuss the future," frontwoman Christina Martinez tells Billboard.com. "I will say, the week we had in Europe was great, and we got a fantastic reception. But we're also without a label deal, and it's a weird climate right now. So, we'll see."

Martinez, husband Jon Spencer, bassist Jens Jurgensen and drummer Hollis Queens have pursued a host of projects since Boss Hog deactivated.

Martinez devoted herself to being a full-time parent, and Spencer has released albums with Blues Explosion and Heavy Trash. Queens and Jurgensen were part of a band called Lo-Hi.

they better start playing again and get their asses around here. i've seen jon with both the blues explosion and heavy trash a zillion times but i yet have to see boss hog.

Oh whoa, I hope they record again. I used to listen to Boss Hog all the time, even have a band t-shirt of theirs. "Sam" off their self-titled used to be one of my favorite songs

I saw them at All Tomorrow's Parties and ok it was about 1am, i was happily wasted, but they were fucking ace. And they played 'Chocolate' which made my day

They are very good live. I LOVE this band. And Jon and Christina are sex.
