| Never, NEVER in this life would I have thought I would like a britney record. NEVER. It happened with Blackout because it's a really good record, but I was like "well that's a fluke, she won't be able to put another record I could possibly like again" but I have to be honest, I MOTHERFUCKING LOVE CIRCUS!!!!!!
IT IS SO GOOD!!!!! It's just as good as Blackout. In fact I think it could be better because there is more variety, Blackout is a very monocrhomatic record.
I think that I've finally come to understand Britney Spears and accept her for what she is. I always said like oh she's an idiot because she can't write songs or speak profoundly of things or whatever, but that's not what she's here for. It's like having the expectations for champagne but with coca cola. Coca Cola is never going to be champagne but it doesn't mean that it isn't good. And Birtney has evolved into very fine Cola. I dig it.
I also like her tongue in cheekness. I didn't get it before, but I do now, she has an accessible quality. Yes she's hot and loaded and she knows it and she flaunts it but not a threatening way, her beauty and success are not a weapon of mass destruction to inflict upon other people like it is for let's say Beyonce and 99.9% of people who have those things in the world. Not at all, I mean she displays herself in a very accessible manner even though she really isn't obviously, in a way she shares that quality with the artists that the public has loved and adored the most like Marilyn Monroe for instance, she had that quality. I'm not saying that she is like Marilyn but there is that closeness to the public in her image and how she carries herself.
Anyway, I like it, it's a good album and Amnesia is the second catchiest song, I don't know why it's just a bonus.  |
