"Live Through This" by Hole
"Rumours" by Fleetwood Mac
"PopArt" by the Pet Shop Boys
"Hardcore" by Pulp
"Immaculate Collection" by Madonna 11. Recommend an album to the KR gang and tell us why we need to hear this album. "The Real Ramona" by Throwing Muses. It is truely the most exciting album ever created.

| | | Sorry, I typed that **** in no-time at work yesterday, so allow me to add more on Throwing Muses:
For those of you who don't know, Throwing Muses was founded by Kristen Hersh (50 Foot Wave) and her step sister Tanya Donelly (Belly, Breeders) and depending on who you ask, they are either wildly popular or pathetically obscure; although I'd prefer the former to be true, the latter is more fitting.
Their first few albums, Hunk Papa and House Tornado especially, were a rare hybrid of subtle post-punk rock and sugary pop. Their 1991 album, The Real Ramona, though, is sublime. I think it was the last Donelly did with the group before starting the Breeders and Belly. From start to finish it is one of the most consistant albums ever made, and 15, 16, 17 years later it's still just as wonderous.
Check out: 'Ellen West', 'Not Too Soon', 'Counting Backwards'
And yes, I own 'Forever'. And I will burn because of it, I'm sure. But I know some of you ****s own it too, so don't hide your love for Posh.
Also, I meant "This is Hardcore" as the title for the Pulp album...
And I'm currently listening to Pet Shop Boys 'fundamental' which I illegally downloaded AND THEN PAID FOR IMPORT STYLE via AMazon.com. A wonderful album. Too bad it will probably tank in this miserable country.
But yes, moral of the story, check out Throwing Muses. You can actually download FREE music from their website -- it's 50 Foot Wave but it's probably what TM would sound like in 2006.
Also, if you dont know Belly or the pre-Last Splash Breeders or Tanya Donelly solo, do yourself a favor and check them out. |
