She frequently does covers, like half of Vagabond Ways is covers.

Anyways, I'm excited for her version of Down From Dover.

recent work? you mean this new album? sure. but her last two albums consisted entirely of original material (you know your faithfull as well, im sure). i don't know, after the sheer brilliance of Before the Poison, i was hoping she would have cramed inside a studio with the people she's collaborating with on covers, and wrote a handful of new. i do, however, look forward to hearing the Neko Case cover.

i was thinking more post-broken english ... which i guess isnt so recent ... but she's done a pretty wide array of covers. i think the term "covers" is used for too liberally, anyway. she's an interpreter of song, like emmylou harris or linda ronstadt ... i know you know what i mean. i've personally enjoyed a lot of the songs she's chosen that have been written by others, espcially "working class hero" (which, sorry lennon-heads, sounds truer than the original) and "Lola Rastaquouere" from the serge tribute album (which you got me hooked on, thank you very much).

I figure the old gal has paid her dues, anything with any substance is worth waiting for. Im kinda curious about the doc thats coming along with it. I hope its more than some shitty EPK.
