| why doesn't alanis morissette release better singles from her new album? i realize a lot of people hate everything she's ever done and wouldn't be able to tell one single from the next anyway, but if you're someone who likes the new album don't you find she's releasing poor singles?
not that i've heard any of them...wikipedia says "underneath" "in praise of the vulnerable man" and "not as we" have been the singles so far.
wtf? i thought the whole point of this album was to shake things up a little, because her last 10 singles have all sounded alike and nobody cared. underneath sounds like something that would play in a zellers commercial, vulnerable man is the one song i always skip on the album and "not as we" is a good enough song, but it's not going to get anybody excited about the album.
"straightjacket" & "versions of violence" are kind of embarrassing, but i like listening to them, and they sound different from everything else she's done. i'd be interested to see these as singles.
or "tapes" and "giggling again for no reason" (horrendous title aside), probably the strongest songs on the album.
she sucks and all, but i just find it wierd she'd go to the trouble of making this album, and then release a bunch of singles that would sound at home on her last two failures. |
