Anybody like X? They seem real forgotten now. They went out in the late eighties after having a true punk pioneer background. They have a movie on Netflix called the Unheard Music which is pretty cool. They went dormant after there last album See How We Are which is such a pretty song and a good career ender since they all embarked on solo or side projects from there.
There first album Los Angeles was my favorite, I think The Doors Ray Manzerek liked them so much he produced a few of there early albums. Los Angeles was first. I love the song The Unheard Music, Sex and Dying In High Society title track and others. Next they came out with Wild Gift. It was a good album but probably my least favorite. After that they had Under The Big Black Sun, a totally cool album. It is a very personal album for Exene Cerenka too cause songs are tailored around her sisters tragic death. it has a neat ending track and opener.
After that came More Fun In The New World. I loved that album, it was a little different but had as most of there other albums really strong tracks.
After that came Aint Love Grand. I liked the album although the sound was more like More Fun IN The New World. I still liked it like every other album. There last album was See How They Are with the pretty melody of the CD title and other tracks even though the music had changed but still a good career ender.
They were really underated and never got the commercial sucess they deserved. They were true song writers too.
Exene Cervenka married an unknown foriegn actor who ended up turning into Viggo Morentsen since her divorce abd a few solo albums she now lives in Idaho and works as a librarian.

Yeah Exene was a true artist. Not manufactured. I think I was too broke in the early nineties to buy her solo discograhpy or other members but had all there albums, just like I had all the b-52 albums, van halen, and clash. First 45's I bought were go gos are lips are sealed, joan jett rock nroll loverboy weekend but thats veering off topic.
Yeah I have alot of repsect for X and its members. Ill have to check out her site and urge you all to check out her myspace and listen to there X albums.
I loved the imagary in Uheard Music that I rented off netflix the other day and bought back so many memories of my favorite band when I was a teen. I didnt even know they had a movie and it was so well done. They did a good rendtion of White Girl and Big Black Sun and New World stuff.
It was a quality documentary that was honest and loved the sublinmal charachter Paulina that was in the beggining of autobiogorahy movie and the end. I wasnt quite sure how this Paulina or whatver the name was fit into the movie??? She looks like Exene at start and then mentioned at the end. Maybe that was her sister that died but I thought her name was Mary.

Favorite X album? atm, mine is "More Fun in the New World."

I love them, and even my flatmate whose taste is all in his boots was awed by Los Angeles. It's almost perfect, I think.
