The point is that the triviality of money can only be seen when you HAVE MONEY.

The mother of 4 living off welfare can't see it, the poor guy working in a coal mine can't see it, the people working in those garbage disposal places can't see it.

The student working two jobs to pay his or her tuition or the loan they asked for can't see it. I mean the list goes on and on.

And people like Madonna and Pink should remember the time when they didn't have money and think about the people who struggle without it and SHUT THE FUCK UP when they are about to give one of their "money won't bring you happiness" litanies.

Linda likes living in neighborhoods with a strong energy, because she's dead inside.
Only once there, she gets homesick, and has to call on her vegan cafes and bistros and shitty boutiques. Then a bunch of her rug-muncher friends and good-as-barren straights move in, and pretty soon the neighborhood is a deadened, plastic version of it's former self. "Letter to God" is gentrified Courtney. Mizundastood (or however the fuck she spelt it) was gentrified Pink. She went from the wicked bitch of "There You GO" to competing with Alanis for the title of Whitest Bitch on the Planet.

Anyway, last time I checked, Pink was writing really dumb protest songs so she's a lost fucking cause. Even more damning, her last album made Holeboy's Top Ten of '06.

The other day I was watching Punked at my friend's place (such a lame show by the way) and her reaction when she found out make me want to blow her dead off. She went from being all, "Errrr I'm professional." to jumping around doing the bad ass routine. It all just seemed so fake.

i hated that video for one of her forgettable songs that had this bit in it where she was talking to a record exec. and there was a sketch board with a doodle of her, hair coloured pink with "PINK" pointing to the hair.

like it was some subversive comment on manufactured pop stars, but... SHE FUCKING DID DO THAT! you can't sarcastically reference yourself in that way and be like, "yeah, this is how companies work, so shallow. I think Pink is great. The girl can sing her arse off, has some catchy and fun pop songs, and clearly doesn't take herself too seriously except for every now and then.

i agree with the whole post. so much. i dont get the pink hate. it's not like i ever considered her to be omg so fuckign punk rock she's so tuff, it'd be like considering avril 'punk'.... i dont know im not that naive? n
i take her for what she is, i dont read too much into / nor give her much credit for what she probably pretends to be, but i like her.
her songs are catchy and fun and i personally like her voice and i find her incredibly attractive.
she never seemed to take herself too seriously. and i think i just started to love her when i saw her on ellen and during the interview she made SO MUCH SENSE i was amused....
also, a friend of mine and his band toured with h20 this summer, and befriended todd morse and talked a little about her and from what i hear she's pretty amazing.
