| | | For better or worse, I really rated her first two albums. I still do. I think her second would have worked well for Courtney! At the very least it would have been more entertaining than AS, and with better tunes.
I've liked only a handful of songs since then, however. I think it's been all downhill since she stirred Madonna's (and the All Saints') porridge with her William Orbit hook-up on that shitty Charlies Angels II song. No good can come of any connection to those films.
Her new (ish) one is awful, it's got no tune, and there's no way she can convince me any of the pathetically laughable lyrics are tongue-in-cheek. Fuck off, and take your rock moves with you.

As for the hypocrite thing, I definitely see what you mean about Madonna and American Life. In her defense, and it's a weak defense, maybe she's just so fucking out of touch with reality that she believed she actually was doing mankind a favor by making that piece of shit.
But did Pink ever actually say money and fame don't bring happiness? I think she was just saying don't be a stupid girl. You can be rich and famous without being some idiotic cunt. She was making fun of do-nothings like Paris Hilton and chicks who whore themselves out as morons like Jessica Simpson. She never preached against being somebody like Scarlett Johansson who has money, a career and is still a respectable human being.
And when I hear about Pink, the name doesn't dredge up images of some celebrity train-wreck making the tabloids every single day. For the most part, she's famous because of her work. So I don't think it's hypocritical of her to say fame entirely for the sake of being famous is stupid. |
well her message isn't even well constructed. What is she REALLY saying with the stupid girls video?? let's read between the lines:
at the end of the video the girl has two choices, the barbie doll and the football ball. At the end she chooses the ball because she doesn't want to be a "stupid girl" and wants to be important or whatever.
I hate to break it to you but that is the quintessential(sp?) sexist macho stereotype. The man is always the stud while the woman is invariably always the slut. If you are feminine(the barbie doll) you are dumb, shallow, stupid, sluttty, worhtless. If you are masculine(the ball) you are strong, powerful, smart, sexy, worthwile(sp).
She's very clear. Unless you look and act like a bulldyke like Pink herself, you are of no good.
Ironically that is the EXACT OPPOSITE OF MADONNA'S MESSAGE OF TRUE FEMINISM, where she said that you could be girlie and sexy and be smart and of substance at the same time. In other words, to Madonna power DOES NOT mean masculinity.
And I think that's why I hate Pink because she somehow thinks she is as rebellious as you can get and somehow no one has rebelled against the system the way she has, well gurrllll, I hate to break it to you but Madonna has left no restrictions to rebel against SO FUCK YOU BITCH!
Madonna has been more feminist and more pro EVERYTHING that's of good to humanity than any other popstar.
And while I'm talking about Madonna, yes American Life sucked in every way. A total low point, except for the glorious return of the black hair. Terrible record and Madonna was terrible through it. And I think you are right, she was out of touch with reality and the failure of AL kinda brought her back to her senses but not too much unfortunately. |

I know what you're saying about her new song, but I LOVE the video. I don't know. Her face expressions are best. Especially when her hair is on fire. I think she'd be fun to to know. YouTube - P!nk - So What

| | I think she lost the plot when she married that BMX kid. I'm all for keeping it real, but hel-lo? I see she's since dissolved that union so MAYBE she can re-attune herself to that existential angst that made her a force to be reckoned with, or maybe she will go down the route of Alanis and have insipid acoustic versions of her defining moments released as "tasters" in Starbucks

Linda likes living in neighborhoods with a strong energy, because she's dead inside.
Only once there, she gets homesick, and has to call on her vegan cafes and bistros and shitty boutiques. Then a bunch of her rug-muncher friends and good-as-barren straights move in, and pretty soon the neighborhood is a deadened, plastic version of it's former self. "Letter to God" is gentrified Courtney. Mizundastood (or however the fuck she spelt it) was gentrified Pink. She went from the wicked bitch of "There You GO" to competing with Alanis for the title of Whitest Bitch on the Planet. Anyway, last time I checked, Pink was writing really dumb protest songs so she's a lost fucking cause. Even more damning, her last album made Holeboy's Top Ten of '06.
Holeboy's Christmas list is where art goes to die. Fuck him. | HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! |

As far as what she has to say outside of a recording studio, I could care less. Same for most musicans. |

As for the latest shit HCH is talking, she wasn't criticizing Lohan etc. for being rich, it was for being dumb and setting a bad example to younger girls.
As for the money and fame thing, stop being such a jealous cunt. Anyone with an ounce of fucking decency and self respect will say that money and fame isn't the be all and end all to life.
Stop taking the badass thing so seriously aswell. She is badass anyway. I bet she'd kick the shit out of all of you whiny cunts.
"I'M GONNA SHOW YOU TONIGHT,
I'M ALRIGHT,
I'M JUST FINE
AND YOU'RE A TOOL SO, SO WHAT!" | yes, she is a badass anyway
because she breaks mirrors at vma's performances and sings 'i'm a rock star, i'm bad'
right?
then that would make courtney love -who is a former heroin addict, stabbed a kid when being a kid, punched and hit an endless list of people and is accused of being a murderer by a lot of people- what? hitler?
Pink is not a rock star. LOL
She's just another lame manufactured pop singer and she's not better than any disney star imo. |

and im pretty sure, as pompous cunt said, that she could kick anyone's ass, and not cause shes pancrawk, but just cause she seems like the kinda girl that would have no problem in punching someone
and i mean, the courntey comparison: she surely *was* badass, but what does her obsession with
a) befriending celebrities - and namedropping them like crazy, even when she has never actually met them
b) manipulating her features with plastic surgery
c) *her idea that beign skinny as a corpse actually makes you a talented person
d) in general - her useless beign in the last 10 years
say about her?
i'd rather have pink, right now. she's funny and nice to look at and makes a lot more sense than courtney when she speaks.
and as for the disney kids, just no. she might be manufactured but she surely speaks out about basic matters (life, religion, women) in a way that might be 'faux and plastic and constructed' but - at least - she says things i'd rather have my imaginary child listen to, rather than the purity rings bullshit disney's been throwing out (if this makes any sense) |

| | | I like her. Her first album was where it was at back in the day, and Misundaztood rocked my world in the 8th grade. She seems like she would be fun to hang out with and like she can party but not be cunty. I would chill with her.
and Ramon's hatred of her just made me like her a little bit more. |

| | | I'm listening to that "me and bobby mcgee" cover that someone posted, it's pretty damn good. suits her voice PERFECTLY.
I've always had a soft spot for Pink. I totally want to fuck her, and I don't like 'butch' girls. I bet Pink is bisexual. I don't see her as a full-blown lesbo though. I don't think she'd be the type to hide her true sexual orientation by dating / being engaged to (?? was she engaged to cory hart?) men. | |
