Fresh off winning three top awards at last weekend's MTV Video Music Awards, Britney Spears has confirmed she will release a new album before year's end. "Circus" is due Dec. 2 via Jive; the first single is "Womanizer," produced by the Outsyders.
Among the other contributors are Dr. Luke, who wrote and produced the title cut, Danja, Guy Sigsworth, Max Martin and Bloodshy & Avant.
Last month, Spears told OK Magazine of the new album, "I think it is more urban," adding that she'd been writing everyday on a piano in her living room.
"Circus" is the follow-up to last year's "Blackout," which has sold 894,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The project was largely overshadowed by Spears' tabloid-fodder personal life and her disastrous performance of the single "Gimme More" during the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas.
I think she needs Paula Abdul to choreograph that thing. 80s Paula Abdul.

I thought Blackout was a really good album. I actually can't wait to hear this new album

Britney Spears' comeback track Womanizer has leaked onto the Internet.
The eagerly anticipated song was set to hit the airwaves in North America next week, but has been partly uploaded online and can be heard through Nashville radio station 107.5 The River's website.
According to Usweekly.com, the tune features sexy lyrics, with Spears' singing, "Boy don't try to front/I know just what gets you off". The song is taken from Spears' forthcoming LP Circus, which she has hailed as her best work yet, and is slated for a December release to coincide with her 27th birthday. The album is said to mark a return to form for the pop superstar after a year of erratic behaviour, which came to a shocking end earlier this year as she entered a psychiatric ward and lost custody of her two young sons.
Britney Spears treated herself to another Frappuccino after leaving the dance studio yesterday. Her new single, "Womanizer" isn't set to be released until next week, but a sample of the new song was leaked online today. The sound quality isn't the greatest, but it's a sneak peek at what we can expect from Circus. Check out the sample here, and tell us what you think — love it or leave it?
I LOVE IT ALREADY! (even though it was a shitty quality 50sec clip)
Seriously. I listened to it a bunch of times, and then took my dog for a walk, it kept going around in my head.
The full thing is premiered on monday right?
Brit Brit can do no wrong.
It's sort of alright, but I don't think I'm really the target market. It certainly sounds like I'd have expected it to.

Yeah, I know. Before the leak though, I thought it was that.
Hadn't heard about the Lady Gaga one though, except for a while back she said that she'd heard one of the songs Britney was gonna do and that it was 'mindblowingly good' and that she wished she'd recorded it first or something?
