Juliana Koranteng, London

Morrissey has split with artist management firm ie: music after just three months. An ie: music spokesman confirmed that it had parted company with the ex-Smiths frontman, but declined to give any details.

Morrissey joined ie:music in May (Billboard.biz, May 27), following his split with previous manager Merck Mercuriadis, ex-CEO of the now defunct music company Sanctuary U.S.

Other acts managed by ie:music, which is run by Tim Clark and David Enthoven, include Robbie Williams, Craig Armstrong and Sia.

It's been a tumultuous past couple of months for Morrissey. First, his completed new album, "Years of Refusal," was bumped from a fall release to Feb. 2 by Universal for unspecified reasons. No U.S. label is on board for the project at this point.

Then, former label Warner Bros. announced the release of a "Live at the Hollywood Bowl" DVD, which the artist blasted as being done "without any consultation to me whatsoever, and in breach of their terms as laid out by themselves in an agreement made for the film between Warner and my ex-manager."

And last week, producer Jerry Finn, who had worked on "Years of Refusal," passed away after suffering a massive brain hemmorhage in July.

Jeez, either Moz is a creative perfectionist or he just has ISSUES with management. I wonder what the problem was this time Hopefully all this stress will diminish in time for an imminent YoF tour.

We love you, Steven. Keep dong what you're doing <3

I beg to differ. In recent articles, he continues to affirm that he has progressed from his previous miserable self and, while he doesn't regret anything he did in the Smiths, he's in a different place now artistically. The contrast between his work in the 80's and his recent albums is stark. Now don't get me wrong, his music still retains that signature pessimism we all know and love. He wouldn't be our Morrissey otherwise! I just think he's arrived at a place where he's content in himself

Also (and this is just a morbid by-note), he once said that he wanted to die at the age of 46 because it's the same age Oscar Wilde died at. I think the fact that Mozza is still live and kicking at the ripe old age of 49 is somewhat of a good sign

Who put the M in Miserable, amirite?
