The Long Blondes to release singles album




Release includes unreleased tracks from Sheffield band

The Long Blondes are set to release a compilation of their first four 7" singles.

The record, due out October 20, will be called 'Singles', and includes all the tracks that were available on the long since sold-out releases plus a few unreleased songs too - 'Autonomy Boy' and 'Peterborough'.

The tracklisting for 'Singles' is as follows:

'Long Blonde'
'Autonomy Boy'
'Giddy Stratospheres'
'Polly'
'Darts'
'Appropriation (By Any Other Name)'
'My Heart Is Out Of Bounds'
'Lust In The Movies'

They aren't even from Sheffield really.

I know this is what you're probably expecting people to say, but at least I'm first to say it - why are they bothering? They've only got two albums. Are they desperate to get out of a 3 album deal?

It's a rarities collection, not a greatest hits... probably doing it because:

(a) Long Blondes fans are kinda obsessive and want to fill the gaps

(b) Couples didn't do very well so they need a boost

I'll probably buy it at some point.
