zootv vs. popmart

Popmart is only in the running because of song selection. It depends on how much you like "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" "Discotheque" and "Gone". I love them all, so I'm going with Popmart.

I wish they were this band more often:

Here's a drawing I did of The Edge, because he rules:

I'm posting this because a.) Springsteen is uncharacteristically smoking hot b.) there's a brief clip of supposedly AIDS-ravaged Tom Hanks, where he actually looks uncharacteristically hot c.) this song sounds like something that could have been on the Pet Shop Boys album Behaviour if they weren't such blithering musical theater queens from the wrong side of the pond - it has synthesizer, a drum machine, a clean sound & is haunted by the gay plague.

I think ***Riotfairiepunkerchick86*** and her friends should all get into Bruce Springsteen. If you like Northern Star and Softer Softest, you'll like Atlantic City, The River and a bunch of other songs.

U2 are annoying. because on one hand they make some pretty amazing sounds, some really lovely songs and even the lyrics are kinda cool and bono is actually a great singer.

but then he goes an de-mystifies it all by being such a tool. thom yorke campaigns about the same things, will not quite but he is a wee campaigner like bono and he still has the know-how to throw in stuff like "I like to paint these bushes because they look like human brains." he still keeps it edgey like you're not sure what he's thinking. Even the green campaigning all might just be because he's nuts and thinks rocks have lifeforce.

but bono no. bono is just up his own arse like one of those cameras in the better than the real thing video, which otherwise is a brilliant song.

i was a big u2 fan uup to achtung baby, after that they lost me and bono became too much of a tosser for my liking. the zoo tv tour was stellar though, i saw the arena tour then the stadium tour and they truly went all out and put on a great show.

their new music is just bland, nothing grabs me and i'm sick of hearing about bono and his politics and money.

what?? that's just when they got really interesting. achtung baby is probably the best album by anybody of the 90's, but zooropa and pop are great too.
pop might be a little too long, but then there isn't a single song on there that i skip.

i'm not crazy about the two since then, but "walk on" & "stuck in a moment you can't get out of" have caught me off guard a few times, and i'll get a little choked up.
