didn't know Nada Surf and Elvis Costello made albums this year. In fact, I don't know a few albums on this list and feel like a creep. If NPR says they're worthy , I better...

blehman is on a distinguished road
I'm going with Nick Cave, also NIN is very good. I was likewise impressed by the new REM as it was a good return form in the post Bill Berry era.

I said....

NIN
Cat Power
Vampire Weekend << guilty pleasure to the max
Death Cab
Sigur Ros
REM
The Black Keys
The Mars Volta
But my favorite album on the list this year was the Raconteurs new album...I couldn't stop listening to it for awhile.
I didn't notice the Nick Cave, oh well. =/

I hope you're not being sarcastic bc NPR is one of the last remaining great things in this country (You seem like a smart girl, yes!) .. but the new Costello album is really fun. For real.

Nada Surf's song Always Love is one of my favorite tunes. You should check the album out.

Where the hell is the actual list of albums they have?
I just see their little blurb and then a mass of comments?
Maybe its my internet.

npr, really?
i thought they'd have complied a much better list that was much less mainstream (coldplay, seriously?)

and the answer to best album of the year is Josh Ritter's "The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter", i think. and that wasn't even an option.

infact, i can think of 20 albums that should have been on the list.

I was once mocked for mentioning I had ben listening to NPR. I just kind of chuckled. I was hoping someone here would have the time to write in some votes, because I sure didn't.
