I don't listen to the radio because I can't stand the outrageous commercials and the Nickelback-esque crap that's interspersed throughout the decent music. I usually listen to CDs, I have a huge case in my car, and they're all ripped for my computer when I'm inside. Unfortunately, that makes it tough to discover new music, and I'm usually at the mercy of my friends' recommendations when I want to hear something new.

How do you find new music?

Use one of those personal tailored-to-you internet radio stations.

i generally pick up the fly and occasionally the nme. if anything sounds interesting i'll look in to them. myspace is good for that. or i'll download a couple of tracks. itunes store is also good for checking out small samples of bands you interested in, but don't want to go out and buy incase they really are shite. also, the music recommendations threads here are good.
i don't listen to the radio myself, and every now and then a friend will recommend me something good. but over all, i'm the one they come to for new music. i have quite the rep in that department

Do some blog searching. nodatta.blogspot.com used to be pretty adequate. It came back but it's pretty scene-y. It's all artists with named like Carnival of the Undivided Departures or The Fuck Midgets or w/e. Meh.

But try chocoreve for 60's/70's stuff (fucking goldmine blog), regnyouth for the good indie stuff (if it's still up, idk, it ain't loading right now), and ocanadarm for the punk/rockabilly type stuff, mostly Canadian goodness.
