Christina, although Mariah is a class singer too but in a way that you just know she spent her whole life with singing coaches. Xtina's got a voice of her own.

if i had to choose id say xtina for fighter is the best pop song from a pop artist in recent yrs and i have all 3 of her cds-fave tracks-fighter,im ok,make over, get mine get yours, genie in a bottle, back in the day, candyman, here to stay, dirty, still dirty, the voice within, reflection, soar, aint no other man, what a girl wants, and i turn to you.....(mariah and sheryl crow were most consistent 90s sinles artists with memorable singalongy decent stuff)now mariah i like alot too although i wish shed drop those dumb ass rappers and think shes delusional when she says she thinks they add to her songs like the fantasy version with odb is better then one witout him wtf i loathe her new song touch my body and the vocal is prolly her worst vocal ever not to mention dumb song i always liked her singles and never bought an album although every album had memorable ones (fantastic ones)then she had duds like the roof and heartbreaker and that new song ...cringe....anyways her hits collection is ace, charmbracelet isnt amazing, and emancipation is decent mainly for we belong together, and shake it off is good too as for favorite tracks.....my all,one sweet day, fantasy, dreamlover, emotions, vision of love,we belong together, forever,i dont wanna cry, love takes time, hero, make it happen, cant let go,when you believe, and without you.marah writes alot of her own stuff and emotes it to her fullest extent of knowing how to express it and i dont find her to be a total showoff.i think they are two of the best singers in the world too and i think mariah is a better singer then xtina however i think xtina is better then celine by a mile as is monica, and toni braxton so i dont know how people say (american idol and others)that 3 best singers are mariah, whitney, and celine.however whitney houston is the best singer of the modern era period or atlest she was before the crack and i hope she still has it.i know off topic but nobody in randb nowadays comes close to the amazing whitney tracks all at once, saving all my love for you, where do broken hearts go,one moment in time, didnt we almost have it all,i have nothing, run to you,my love is your love,i will always love you.i always find it laughable when one tries to compare mary j blige or alicia keys to the unbeatable whitney for whitneys voice is pure and powerful and perfect and wow.i was just listening to whitney last night as a matter of fact.now whitneys are true anthems and i feel no one gives whitney her due and pays enough respect to her nowadays and admit it she is the most talented singer who dont write her material and she emotes gorgeously and lastly none of those american idol people come close to whitney.so not to sabotage the thread but show whitney some love too.

I have to say, Mariah's version of "Bringing on the Heartbreak" [Def Leppard original] won it for me. She's done more utter bilge than Christina, but she's done more bearable stuff as well. Just more of everything, including entertaining breakdowns, and videos with fat kids on rollerblades. Not that I actually like either much.

Once, my friend's car got broken into when she was down on the beach. For some reason, the only thing taken was a CD of Mariah Carey's MTV Unplugged that I had bought her for about three bucks. Gutting.

i have to say that "bringing on the heartbreak" was pretty phenomenal for me. it really is by far the best cover she's done. which was surprising, because i take my 80's stripper jams very seriously. i could've done without the video though.

& when it comes to whitney, i've never really thought much of her vocally. i think her voice kind've trite & boring. sure she can belt & hold a note, but other than that, she's just so bland. & i've never actually been able to like her songs, sans the Bodyguard OST. & when people compared whitney to mariah, i always wondered why, seeing as whitney's voice is just so basic & mariah's is just so much more.

when it comes down it, mariah has more talent than whitney can smoke. & that's that.
