| | | The Silversun Pickups??? I don't know.
I guess I didn't even give them a fair chance till today.
Do you think they have any potential whatsoever with influences like Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, and Dinosaur Jr?
Maybe it's just his voice that turns me off?
What do you guys think of this band? |

| | | I heard a song of theirs awhile back. I can't remember the name of it but I do remember that it was the closest sounding thing to the Smashing Pumpkins I had ever heard. |

Their older stuff (which isn't all that old) is a little bit better. |

| | I got Carnavas a while back and there's a few decent tracks on there but Lazy Eye is the greatest. Most people seem to label them as early 90's alt rock revival. I did really think it was a girl singing when I first heard Lazy Eye, he's got a bit of Corgan-ism going on there I'd like to hear more of their stuff. |

| | | Oddly enough, I like them too and I HATE whiny sounding singers, but there's something about these guys that I really like. I dunno. |

| | | I saw them open for silverchair. I was impressed. They are talented, original and creative. I am not exactly a fan of them... I'm not going to go buy their cd, but I could appreciate them. |

i like the album quite a bit. i haven't heard any of their other stuff though. |

they're excellent live. they seem to really enjoy it. maybe they're just drunk. but yeah. they need to tour again.
i think they sound more influenced by shoegaze than good ole pumpkin head but you know. whatevas.

I thought the same thing too about the lead singer. Then I saw the video for "Kissing Families" and was like, wtf, it's a guy? I do like Carnavas much better than the Pickles (I think that's the name of it) EP, but I may need to give it another listen. |

And the music is pretty cool too.
Not fair. |

| | | i listened to lazy eye in full the other day, and i never realised it was so long and got so cool.
usually i just remember the riff and melody etc. that's the only song i know, and i think it's brilliant. hopefully i like their other stuff too.

| | | I realy like the name of the band. I've only heard one song and it was live so - difficult to judge for me really. I thought they had talent, but it didn't grab me as in "Have to have this."

| | | they're okay. they'd be more okay if the girl in the band took over the vocal duties. like in one song in that ep, i forgot which song. |

| | | i think they sounds heaps like smashing pumpkins but in a good way because i really like both bands. i had the chance to go and see them last year at a small club and i'm pissed that i didn't go because i know that next time they're here they're going to be playing at a way bigger venue |

| | | My favorite is "Well Thought Out Twinkles" right now. The drumming and the swirly type guitar part mid-song is great. |

| | | Yeah I finally decided if it takes me this long to make a decison whether I like them or not, I don't.
If you've ever heard Straylight Run's sophmore album and compared it to this band's album with 'lazy eye' on it, the Straylight one is better. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | |
