| | | M83 See, I don’t remember much of the 80’s. I spent most of it trying to write legibly / spitting at things / wishing I was an overgrown turtle / running after girls who hadn’t tits yet.
What I do know, is that since then my favourite club is a shithole called ‘The Reflex’ that closes at midnight and, at twenty four, I’m always at least ten years younger than the rest of the patrons.
Yes, it plays nothing but the hits of the eighties. Yes, it has neon lights and awful cocktails. Yes, you may come with me.
I like 80’s pish music.
I like M83.
S=Y is the first album this year I’ve not been disappointed with. MySpace.com - M83 - Antibes - Rock / Pop / Shoegaze - www.myspace.com/m83 |

| | | M83 have a good sound, yeah. it reminds me of MBV with less guitar and more synth. I have turned to songs like Teen Angst and Safe in times of feeling really disconnected from the world, and they have a way of gently pulling me back to reality. makes for an effective ambient and lyrical combo.
I've not heard Saturdays=Youth yet but I intend to check it out. |

| | I want the new album so bad. I am fairly obsessed with the 1980s as well. If I could bring Fad Gadget back from the dead I would... URB Magazine :: Podcasts
M83 did a favorites podcast here, lots of good stuff. |

| | | I still haven't fully investigated them, but I'm feeling I really should... tell us all about the live show. And adventures down The Reflex.

It's really bad. | I think there's an 80s bar in Wellington, but that's on a different island to me. Last I checked the only decent city on my island had nothing specifically 80s-focused. Maybe I ought to open open. I think "Club Tropicana" would be far too obvious a name. How about "Slave to the Rhythm"? World's only Grace Jones theme bar.

| | | I feel like I haven't lived because I've never entered a Reflex. Or known about them. Until now. Google is my friend. They look...hideous. I WANT TO GO.
Also, for reasons I don't understand myself, I have avoided everything M83 shaped. I will click that myspace link. |

It looks like his younger brother plays guitar, but not sure. he's sexy, too
i'm loving saturdays=youth, i couldn't not see him/them. |
