I've been a Madonna fan since I was 6 and I saw the Borderline video...and my love for her never wanes much, but I'm not feeling this one. The song is so "busy" and I can barely hear her...and I couldn't care less about Timberlake/land. The cover art is kinda ick, but it's really the music I care about the most. I hope the rest of the album doesn't sound like this.
I loved Confessions and the tour was fab...her tours always are. So at least I have that to long forward to, even if I don't end up liking HC. I'm glad she's doing ballads again (I think it's one of her fortes, despite not being that great of a singer)...but I would love to hear an album a little more low-key along the lines of Ray of Light rather than something as cluttered and "loud" as Four Minutes.
Doesn't it seem as if Madonna is going for the Gwen Stefani vibe here as "Confessions" pretty muched tanked in the U.S (save for the dance charts, that is) but went stratospheric in Europe? From what I hear so far, it's not one of her most innovative albums but I think she's done it to prove a point to the American market.
Don'cha just love how her "gay man hands and veins" are artly subterfuged with gloves and airbrushing

She'll probably be 90 when she starts wearing that turban and spouting shit about how she's bigger than the industry... not that she isn't already on the road.

3:13 is hilar, along with her yoga breakdance she does in 3:21. i'm thinking bbgirl should stick to vogue<3
well in their defense, i kind've thought this video was gonna be a big deal. i read somewhere it was supposed to be like "madonna & justin are superheroes trying to save the world" or something like that. but when i look at it, its literally just them doing random shit. idk.
the song's just very gwen in general. & its sound more like a pharrell beat than it does timbaland. but madonna is nice looking though. thank god she ditched the pink/purple leotard/legging motif she had going on.
I like the single, but the video is crap. Mind you, I haven't liked one of her videos since 'What It Feels Like For A Girl' ('Hollywood' was okay but that's because I'm a Bourdin fan). I have a feeling that this song going to be the only song on this album that sounds like an obvious Timbaland single. It was smart of her to use it as a lead-off single.
In fairness, I think the video is kind of funny, which is similar to being good, and it sticks in my mind - as a shit-tastic lolzfest - more than videos which are merely bland tend to.

Time is the distance that you can't return by miles.
Interesting to see how Madonna cannot get Timbaland to do what she wants with her voice on the track, he just interrupts her when she's making suggestions and you can see Madonna being patient with him. Look at her face when makes that gesture after saying 'What do you think of that, it's a possibility?' and he just plain ignores her. After that she turns to J.T., who doesn't even seem to realize he is right in the middle of a major diva battle
The end bit is priceless too. When Timbaland says 'I just give it to you when its done!' In other words: STFU YOU OLD CUNT, I KNOW BETTER.
To which she replies: 'That's what I was waiting to hear, because that's how you roll, Timbo. He just gives it to you when its done, and it always sounds good.' In other words, Bitch, I have to eat a lot of shit to crack the U.S. market again.
God I miss over-analyzing Madonna on kr, good times.
