Boris

Am I alone?

Does anyone else here share my love for the greatest band ever to walk the face of this silly planet?

Feedbacker > any album ever.

Fact!

P.S. I think Wata is mega hot.

I love them, yeah, wouldn't venture as far as to say they're the best band ever though. That be formidable territory.
Pink, Flood and Akuma No Uta are probs my favourite of their albums, but it's so hard to choose with them. I dig the stuff they did with Merzbow too.

Smile is great but kinda disappointing. Maybe "disappointing" isn't the right word, but perhaps I was just wasn't expecting it?

have you heard their cover of I Am the Walrus? lol and wow at the same time

Must check out Boris since all yer other reccomendations have been spot on (battles, earth, dead medow). Where's a good starting point?

Pink is definitely the easiest album to get into, I'd reckon.

Bookstore, yeah, Blackout is probably my favourite Boris track also... it's very much ruling. That stoner/doom/drone blog thingy is Get Off My Elevator. If anyone's interested, I think you can download the whole of Akuma No Uta off there. When I bought Akuma No Uta, I had to take it back, because the guy in the record shop actually put the Nick Drake album in it instead, hehe.

Yeah, I saw Boris play with SunnO))) doing Altar in London in December. For their set, Boris basically just played Feedbacker, it was frickin god-like.

Still haven't had a chance to get my hands on a copy of Smile yet, I thought it wasn't out til later in April or thereabouts? Is it leaked on teh int3rwebz or can you get promo copies in shops or stuff yet?

And umm, how shit is it that they're not playing in Glasgow!? Might have to persuade my mate to road trip it to Manchester, after all we did go all the way to London last time!

and thanks for the blog link, YOU GODSEND. lots of gold on there, cheers mdears!

hahaha funny cd mix up, genuinly confused by the cover :P bless

When I saw Boris, it was quite a slow, doomy affair. Everyone just kinda like nodded their heads in the traditional stoner-gig fashion. If I saw them playing pink, I'd probably wanna jump around like a twat. I suspect it might be one of those things where everyone wants to jump around like a twat but also wants to look cool and just stand there appreciating it or whatever. That London gig was really weird, there was a totally different atmosphere to most Glasgow gigs I go to, like people were just really different about everything, it's hard to explain.

Jesu... never really given them a lot of time to be honest. I heard a couple of tracks on a CD I got free with Terrorizer or some other cruddo metal magazine while I was waiting in the bus station once. I wasn't overly taken aback by them to be honest.

But yeah, that blog is the shit, I'd recommend checking out Porn: American Style by (Men of) Porn. They're a Dale Crover side project, I saw them supporting the melvins about a year or so back... pretty straight-up dumb stoner rock, but fun nonetheless.

Although the only downside about that blog/website is the stupid music player down the side, and the fact it has Monster Magnet's GOD AWFUL cover of Venus in Furs.
