im an english teacher with 2 classes that i need a hand with. im teaching a unit on "change" and a unit on cliques, popularity, bullying, conformity etc called "too cool for school". we are watching The breakfast club as our film. for the "change" unit we are watching Looking for alibrandi- but what i need are song lyrics that really, clearly express a theme of change, and then for the other class, songs that deal with adolesent bull****, conformity, peer pressure, staying true to yourself, surviving high school, popularity, risky behaviour.


ive already used a few songs but any input would be hugely appreciated- my students are 16-17 yrs old and struggle with english literature etc, so im breaking it down into text they understand and can identify with. i cant use songs that are overtly offensive or have undertones of violence.

any advice would be sweet.
