The Shins might sound all nice and pretty, but for multi-instrumentalist Marty Crandall, things got pretty ugly last Friday night. Sacramento County Police arrested the Shins member after allegedly roughing up his ex-gal pal, model Elyse Sewell, in a Sacramento hotel room. Crandall was charged with domestic assault, a felony, but he must have posted his $25,000 bail because as off today, the Sacramento County Sheriff Department website lists Crandall as released. Sewell, formerly a contestant on the first season of America's Next Top Model, was also arrested, but was released early Saturday. Of course, she instantly blogged about it, claiming Crandall self-inflicted bite marks on himself to get the police to charge her and that the cops were less than cordial when they brought her in for questioning. Both Crandall and Sewell are due in court this week.

I remember him from when he visited her on ANTM. He creeped me out. So small and wet lipped and pervy looking. Ugh. Cant believe he's in a band.

I don't think she's lying but she's going to get a lot of shit from people about her blogging about it. We'll see how it plays out...but he does seem like a shitty person.
