lol metric.

Did you throw something nasty at Emily? They really do suck live.

All those other gigs you went to look rad, though.

i wanted to give you a list. but i have seriously been underwhelmed this year. part of it is me. part of it is nothing exciting has happened. i saw Morrissey so much this year, though, that I actually miss him.

The fresh heartbreak was, in a sense, like being in a foreign country; everything seemed alien, brilliant and glinting. It was as if I’d been flayed, so that even the air hurt. When you’re that unhappy, any glimmer of beauty or consolation feels like running into an old friend abroad, or seeing mountaintops through smog. Maybe we mistakenly think we want “happiness,” which we tend to picture in very vague, soft-focus terms, when what we really crave is the harder-edged intensity of experience.

i guess i'd have to say i was underwhelmed for music as a whole, but maybe i just didn't hear enough new stuff.

my favs are tori's american doll posse and Kala by M.I.A. as well. Also loved The Hair the TV the Baby and the Band by Imperial Teen. Oh, and the Yoko Ono remix albums Yes I'm A Witch and Open Your Box were really great!
