| | | My Chemical Romance 'flatline' nme: My Chemical Romance 'flatline' | News | NME.COM My Chemical Romance 'flatline' My Chemical Romance have sent out a oblique message on their website, prompting fans to speculate on their future.
On TheBlackParade.com there is a repeated image of a hospital monitor’s flatline and the message “00 BPM” on the bottom right hand side of the screen.
The band played as fictional group The Black Parade during their world tour earlier this year with singer Gerard Way telling the crowd on the opening night of a show in Plymouth : “We are The Black Parade.”
Fans have suggested that the message does not indicate the end of the band but the end of the ’Black Parade’ era.
On fansite Unleash The Bats, user Differentmind wrote: “I actually think that is pretty clever if they are referring to the fact that The Black Parade is supposedly dead.”
Meanwhile Jennasie wrote: “It’s because they will never play as The Black Parade ever again so they are like..dead. Flat lining.”

Used to be Tool doing this kinda crap. What happened to that? | Except everything Tool does is usually great. MCR doesnt have a creative genius fronting the band. |

They barely even seemed to promote the last record. And with Wikipedia on your side, how hard can it be to just come up with a few alchemic symbols or angel names to reference?
I don't get it because MCR have the kind of rabid fanbase that they could really play around with. If my band wrote a song where, I dunno, the beat was morse code for "SATAN IS MY BUMCHUM", for example, chances are no-one would ever notice. It just seems kinda lame that they have the kind of media attention that means every nuance of their press releases will be studied and over-analysed, but they aren't really using it. |

ps: zeke, shut up. | Coming up next: why we should all care what Marilyn Manson's latest identity's blood-group and sperm count is (HINT: it's probably 666 or something). |
