| | | Joe Strummer was among the coolest men to ever walk the earth Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten
A rock documentary that's a good as it gets. - Hollywood Reporter
Filmmaker Julien Temple chronicles the transformation of a self-described "mouthy little git" into an antiestablishment icon known to the world as Joe Strummer. In his latest documentary, Temple uncovers the myth behind the front man of the seminal punk band the Clash. Through previously unearthed interviews with Strummer himself and recollections of those who knew him best, Temple reveals a complex man who used his music as a bullhorn for his conscience--as well as a means to educate others about the injustices of the world. The film includes live concert footage spanning Strummer's career and tapes of his BBC radio program, all of which provide a fitting soundtrack to his distinctive and storied existence. - Sundance Film Festival. (2006, 123m)

There is a lot of discontent & dissent by diehards about the whole deal. But, truth be known, I think it's a "cool" n' symbolic gesture in all, and it looks good as well. It'll give inspiration to a slew of newer, younger fans to grab a hold of it, and make their own mark, or squeeze out their own sound with. It's just a normal Telecaster. Yes, he was very much so about individualism, as myself, but it will do someone some good sometime. Sorta' bring satisfaction in some way or another. One can always choose their own guitar to play at shows, and then use 'the Strummer guitar' behind closed doors to come up with riffs, or songs. No big deal. (Shruggs shoulders) People get too attached, or emotional to these sorts of things anywho. |

| | | The film Let's Rock Again was great.I can't even describe how humble and cool he was in it. his new one is Julian Temple so I'll check it out and plan to rent westway to the world too. I haven't seen the guitar but won't be purchasing it. However, my London Calling promo poster will be among the first items placed on the wall in my new place.

Hey, I thought a Starship Trooper stole your heart?
About a week ago that movie was on and I watched it. So dramatic, especially after the bug attack on Buenos Aries when someone says, "The damn Bugs got us Johnny..."
