Name: Hannah
Location: england
What was the first single you bought? Hmm, god knows! Probably like, the spice girls or something, ew!
First album? ^ something equally as shitty as the first single i baught (i have no idea)
How old were you? 9 or 10
Who is your all-time favorite band or artist, and why?
ENON, i just REALLY love this band. alot. maybe too much.
every but the odd song is amazing, i like the lyrics and i hardly notice lyrics, theyre mega fun, i dont know, if i were good enough to make music this is what i would have attempted to make. it feels like they made their music by hanging out with animals and eating cakes and stuff like that. their music is not too serious but it can be serious.
plus brainiac (band john schmersal was in before enon) rule too.
here's a few of my fave enon tracks. and a jefferson airplane white rabbit cover by them which is pretty cool :
click for little enon folder!
What song always makes you happy?
well this has GOT to be a They Might Be Giants track!
they're all super happy but ill go with BANGS.
(god that song is far too good)
umm have it! --
bangs
What song makes you cry?
chris clark - fossil paste, doesnt make me cry but it makes me feel a bit, SAD. sad in a nice way though.
actually maybe a few portishead tracks haha
ESPECIALLY
half day closing, it's so... intense.
Do you think music and politics are a good mix?
umm....
Did someone in your life influence your taste in music?
well, deffo. not my parents (horrific taste, no offense mum and dad). my friends, i guess. other than that i discovered most things i liked through magazines, the internet, internet people, gig going etc
Have you met any of your favorite musicians? How was the experience?
hahah yeah. i met the flaming lips, wayne coyne was far too good. i was very drunk and i cried(haha), i wish i could remember exactly what he was saying (it was along the lines of the shit he says on the fearless freaks dvd and well actually, the stuff hes always saying about "life") all i know is that he was bloody excellent/really nice and erm, i liked it!
also met kim gordon and jim o rourke, kim wasnt that great, o rourke was well nice, he drew us all weird pictures and spoke to us for ages. and he spoke to us in japanese! (this is cool)
What was the first concert you went to?
How old were you?
something local, prob about 12
What was the last?
Battles + Prefuse 73 + dirty projectors
well i didnt like battles that much really before the gig as they kinda annoyed me, but fuck they were totally amazing and i love them a bit now. as for prefuse, i was so excited for him but it wasnt as great as i thought it would be, still GREAT but not GREAT GREAT, you know? (he was well fit though

... not that it matters )
i missed half of dirty projectors, ooops
What is the next one?
the fiery furnaces in november (hopefully, money permitting)
Favorite concert memory?
lightning bolt, on the floor in a dingy venue. best gig ive ever been to
What is the most embarrassing CD in your collection?
well it isnt embaressing but korn. the first album,..i really like it!(sometimes)
What are the 5 (only 5) albums that you would bring if you were going to be stuck on a deserted island?
1. nine inch nails - year zero (<3)
2. enon - grass geysers, carbon clouds
3. portishead - dummy and the self titled (id cut both in half and stick the parts with my favourite songs on together )
4. pixies - bossanova
5. prefuse 73 - extinguished
this is too hard..
was i allowed to take mix cds..?
What was the last album that you bought? Was it online or in a shop?
someone mailed me a copy of the new enon cd ..for free : D
What are your thoughts about the digital music / mp3 format?
well i think buying music on itunes is shit, like why would you do that? the whole point of buying music to me is for everything else that comes with it too (being excited to go and buy it, THE ARTWORK(this is exciting), having it THERE in real life) etc
downloading stuff though im not slagging it off, its good for seeing if you like something, and its good if youre poor. although i do think its mean to not buy cds/records by artists that you really love and listen to loads, so i do like to buy stuff to support my favoruite bands.
Do you / Did you ever buy vinyl?
ive got a few enon vinyls, but i dont have a record player, or space for a record player.. when i move out ill get one, and buy more. theyre way better than cds.
Is there a band or artist that you cannot stand, why?
i used to hate it when my ex boyfriend played dinosaur jr
i dont know why, i love sebadoh and folk implosion
What pisses you off about record shops, radio, or video channels? Do you think the state of music is healthy?
well the best record shop in my city just closed down because of downloading.
i dont ever watch video channels and i dont really do radio either
Are you in a band? Care to pimp 'em?
nah im not
thanks for reading <3
(i hope this was okay!)
