Gotta love the title of this thread! Imitation of Life is just one of many of their songs that make me happy! I know I would not be here, if it wasnt for their music. Its always nice to see others enjoy them.

I too like REM loads, and Imitation of Life is uplifting, but what the hell is Michael talking about in some of his songs? It's like he's living in his own little world and expects me to understand it. Callmewhenyatrywaaaakeherup? I think it made more sense when I misheard it as "Gone to Jamacia now" I know lyrics are open to interpretation and all, but I seem to find it difficult to form my own interpretations of their lyrics. And interpreting lyrics is usually an automatic process for me!

IoL brings back good memories of 2001 and singing along to the video with my friend. Oh how we loved Michael Stripe. This thread makes me crave it, I'm going to play it now.
