IT. IS. AMAZING.

What reviews did you read?

Rolling Stone gave it an absolutely excellent review and so did Spin and some other little music magazines.

It is so different from all her other stuff. She plays a piano on the whole thing, the whole album.

The album is bleak and sad and romantic and SO beautiful. The songs are gorgeous. It makes me think of like, lost loves and cemeteries and tombstones and bunnies haha.

I think it is an absolutely beautiful album. I had downloaded it from someone on here and I will buy it when it comes out in the U.S.

I'm a huge PJ fan and I think this might be my favorite album of hers.

I wouldn't call it a let down. It's not my favourite by her (I like her best in Stories), but it's a good album for something so solemn.

I haven't heard it yet. But I wanna. So bad. I am going to a town with music stores and everything next week. Will it be in them yet?

Thumbs up

From an interview with PJ Harvey in the Guardian...

Quote:
"Stories... definitely did what I was trying to do – which was to make an album full of great pop songs. But that's not really where my heart is. It was more of an experiment with the craft rather than the heart, if that makes any sense. White Chalk – and, I think, Is This Desire and To Bring You My Love – were times when I felt the craft and the heart married well. Other times, I just go through phases where it's more of an exercise in exploring something, and not really where I want to be in my soul."
Personally, I think this album is a grower. Yes, it's quieter than her old work, and less catchy than Stories... but it's still beautiful, and very moving. It probably won't pull in that many new fans, but for people who are already familar with PJ Harvey it's a real treat.
