The Beasties actually were the opening act for Madonna's very first big tour. Their only well-known song at that time was the "Cookie Puss" song, and she had only a couple of hits such as "Holiday" "Borderline", etc.

That would be cool if they both got in at the same time.

Nile Rodgers was very important in the '70's and to the whole "New Wave" genre. Wasn't he involved with tons of records/bands in the '80's??

I'm sort of surprised that there isn't more "Rock" in there, but I guess that was just a sign of the times. Rock kinda went out of style there for a minute.

But The Beasties deserve it the most in a way. Boys who started out as punks, made it as white rappers and kind of a novelty act who opened for Madonna, but broke out on their own, garnered tons of respect on their own accord and are still going strong today doing what they do. Gotta give it to 'em. 25+ years and still going strong.

Diana is a great album. Best/only truly decent thing she ever did.

This is the worst year yet.

If Leonard Cohen doesn't win then this entire hall of fame deserves to be shat on.

Well.
It does anyways. But moreso.

I totally disagree. "Touch Me In The Morning" is sensational, as is "Love Hangover". Most of her !980s - present, **** is MOR bull**** but her 70s R&B/pop material is two snaps in a circle.

It's three snaps, DL!
Then there's the Zorro snap for added flair.

BTW, have you heard Joni's Shine yet?
