| So apparently I am the DERvil... I was at an appointment today and the person I was speaking to asked me what type of music I listen to and I replied " most kinds." She said " I like Christian rock." Then " Do you listen to Christian music?" And I said "No, that's about the only type I don't listen to." And she had this sort of fearful and suspicious look. After what seemd like a long pause she questioned me "Why not?" I said " Well, most of it seems to be like top 40 pop or top 40 rock, neither of which is really to my liking." She also asked if I listen to heavy metal, because, appreantly the two are seen as mutually exclusive. ( Don't bring up Stryper.) Anyway, that pretty much ended the chit chat portion of the apointment.
I consider myself to be very open minded about music and to have a wide range of tastes, but I do have definite preferences. So I was reflecting -- and I think that is the only genre wherein I do not like anything I have heard. I am sure some are encouraged to listed to it so they aren't swayed from beliefs or potentially offended. And I get that. But I am offended by how lame the genre overall appears to be. So can someone tell me if I am missing a band in the (self identified) Christian Genre that makes great music?
