| | | Ambient music So I've been watching Fat Pie lately (especially the new Health Reminder) and I've become addicted to ambient music. And not experimental music that's all clangy and wonky, but stuff like Boards of Canada, Mum's quieter stuff (e.g., This Nothing In The Faraway, The Land Between Solar Systems, Hú Hviss - A Ship, We Have A Map Of The Piano), and Brian Eno.
Can anyone recommend some music? And also upload it into the mp3 thread, if you can?
And let's rag about the genius of Eno's Ambient series while we're at it. |

maybe trace will come in here and say something more useful | I tried out Autechre for a day but I really don't like their stuff. And it's all I see on the indie mp3 blogs too. Oy vey.
But I'll try the other two.
And I'll finally get on that bedtime mix I promised you months ago. I think I have it down pat (and by accident too). |

| | | Ratatat? Really? Can they be considered ambient? OR are they jsut instrumental/beat?
I was thinking more... low noises, very minimal, droning humming noises, etc. |

| | | i lost touch with ambient because it has no substance. the closest thing to ambient i listen to is Oval. they do wonders with CD-skipping. you get stuck in the neverending ambient loops. check out Brian Eno's little brother Roger's stuff too if you haven't already.

| | There's an ambient show that we get here at night on Public radio, and I think it's a nationally syndicated broadcast. It's called Echoes, and it's site is at Echoes Home Page, I believe.
I've heard some very cool stuff there. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
