Anyone else a fan? I first discovered her in 2002 while listening to the radio in my dad's pickup truck. Can't Get You Out Of My Head was the song that I had always wanted to hear. It was perfect. Then a few months later, I was sitting around watching MTV, when Kylie's Love At First Sight came on, and automatically I got that same feeling like "WOW! This song is so infectious", and it turns out it was by the same girl, so I went out and bought the album Fever (the first album I ever bought with my own money, ha). So many memories..
She's coming out with a new album this fall. This comeback is gonna make or break her. A new single should be released soon.

Ok .. how old are you?
I used to rollerskate to "Locamotion" in 1988, and I have loved that bitch ever since. Even her fauxraaawk grrl shite. She's the thinking homosexual's Madonna now. Maybe?
(1) you only heard of Kylie in 2002? Do you live under a rock?
(2) next album will "make or break" her? Kylie made it in the 80s and never really left.
(3) "comeback" - hasn't she done 2 or 3 albums since Fever already? And about a dozen more greatest hits compilations??
sorry, I don't mean to sound rude, but it's kinda like somebody not having heard of michael jackson or madonna and i'm just genuinely baffled!
(1) I was only 13 years old in 2002. give me a break.
(2) it has been 4 years since she has properly released a studio album. who knows what could happen? pop isn't selling as well as it was a few years back.
(3) she has been out since 2004 with personal problems (as we all know), it has been nearly 3 years since her last single was released. so yes, this can be considered a comeback.
I don't think that I'm the one that is under a rock..
i think she sings way too high. & her music is far too gay at times. though i liked her indierawx stuff. but that's about it. i have her gh's (a burned copy, i swear), & i can only listen to a handful of songs off it. but i mean, she's a nice alternative to the fugly, faux artxcore madonna. at least kylie knows she's a ttl fagmagnet.
nevertheless, "on a nite like this" is by far one of the greatest pop songs of this decade.
& in samuella's defense, us americanos don't have kylie. its 10xs more gay if you actually do know who she is here. in fact, i only know one person out of all my friends who actually know who she is. so. idk. just put that in your back pocket.
wow, i'm genuinely shocked that Kylie isn't huge in america.
she's such a household name across Europe and America (and has been for nearly 20 years) that I just assumed she was big over there too.
Seriously, here in the UK saying "I never heard of Kylie til 2002" is like saying "I never knew that grass was green until 2002" or "I never knew that George W Bush is a fucking idiot" or "I never knew that Michael Jackson has had plastic surgery". She is seriously that famous. She's had about 30 singles and probably about a dozen number ones. She was in Neighbours for years. Seeing a thread here asking if anyone knew her music seemed like a joke.
And technically you're right - I checked it out and she hasn't released a new studio album since 2003. But pretty much every week over here they release another Kylie compilation and she's been in the media constantly with her clothing range and the cancer and all kinds of general celebrity media, so she really hasn't been gone at all over here. But apparently she never really broke America. So I take back my shocked earlier response.
"Can't Get You Out Of My Head"......That title says it all! But I'm afraid thats as far as it goes for me. That song always gets stuck in my head (No pun intended, honestly!) plus, she is smokin' HOT! That's it!
I liked her when I was 9! Since then I think she's had occasional great singles, but I'm hardly an uber fan. I like her first album on deconstruction. One of about four titled "Kylie Minogue".
Put yourself in my place is her best song and video. I suspect.

i have loved kylie since the early 90s. LOVED. there are a few songs i really can't stand, but mostly... she is good pop fun.

Well, which ones can't you stand? Name and shame.

it's odd that she never broke in america, she's done OK here in canada but unless there is a big US market, there is no real need to come here to promote their product as population wise, we are so small.
funny, robbie williams records don't even get released in the US anymore but canada still gets them, he's another one who couldn't sell records in the US to save his life.
i think we in canada have much more interest in music from across the pond than the US and that's why they do well here.

Almost. Confide In Me is better.

i heard that robbie williams was so chuffed being able to walk around america without being mobbed (unlike in the uk) that he didnt want to try make himself known there.
