I used to love Billy Corgan, now I do not. Supposedly 3/4's of the people he has worked with do not love him as well. The media does not love him, Jay Leno does not love him, half the fans loathe him while the other half are glued on his cock and don't know why. The Future Embrace sounds like a retarded Depache Mode, Zwan was a good idea ruined by a bad egotistical idealist, and now the possibility of the Smashing Pumpkins reuniting? My favorite band....Should I pop a boner, or cut my dick off?

a saturation of dumb effects, crappy "look at my poets hat" lyrics, the only song I liked was the single. You'd think because this is a solo album, and billy was left to his own devices, he could have done so much better.

he's a tired old man.
his only options are writing SP rehashes, that wouldn't be as good as the old stuff anyway, or sucking under the mask of evoling as an artist or some such bullshit.

the expiry date on most big 90's rock artists is pretty sad. billy, courtney, trent, garbage, pearl jam (shut up, they're still boring), liz phair.

if a band can release three really good albums these days, that's a big deal. it's weird that in the 60's and 70's bands had to release music at a much quicker pace, and still managed to release better albums than bands today.

That's SO true Cleetus. A lot of bands would record 4 albums within 2 years. But at the same time, they only had to make like 7-8 songs for an album.

Anyways, back to Billy Pumpkin.

First off, I just want to say I think he's hotter than he was 16 years old. He lost that Powder look and looks like a grown man.

Second, America's Sweetheart got so much shit for selling 100,000 copies but The Future Embrace only sold 69,000. No one says anything.

I haven't tried getting into The Future Embrace, I give it a spin every blue moon. I like "a100" but everything else sounds like one big song.

The issue I've always had with Billy/Smashing Pumpkins is that they write this great fucking melody but then by the first minute of the song, I get fucking bored. It doesn't rise, it doesn't go anywhere, it just falls flat. I think the only time he actually pulled it off with was "Ava Adore" and "Drown".

I'm a pumpkins fan, but cut your dick off....you're irritating me and it would be entertaining.

I don't know Corgan so I really can't loathe him. I like his music though, I could really care less about his personality in the long run.

yes, I was also very confused by the Leno reference. If we should care about the music taste of any late night host, it would be Conan.
