dance hall a louse point

i love this. i haven't listened to it before now because i don't know who john parish is other than a guy who plays on pj's albums, and i didn't know she wrote all the lyrics and did all the vocals.

i figured it would be duets or something, which sounded pretty shitty.

"taut" is maybe my new favorite by her. i've listened to the album twice through, and this song about six times. and "is that all there is?" is the other one that's already stuck in my head. i'm sure there will be more.

'Taut' is amazing (EVEN THE SON OF GOD HAD TO DIE MY DARLING), but 'That was my veil' is one of my favourite tracks of all time. It breaks my heart to hear it but in the most beautiful of ways. There is also a version on the recently released Peel Sessions.

Heela is my favourite Dance Hall... track, closely followed by Taut, Civil War Correspondent and That Was My Veil. I think Taut would be amazing live but she never played it when I saw her.

'Dance Hall' is great, definitely different from Polly's other works.

'Veil', 'Urn With Dead Flowers In A Drained Pool', and 'Taut' (begin fucking great) are my faves.
