Nine Inch Nails are reportedly getting ready to turn their album 'Year Zero' in a television programme.

The futuristic show is said to centre around a time when the US is ruled by a right wing, religious dictatorship, reflecting the record's themes.

Frontman Trent Reznor said: "We've got a producer on board and have met with writers. We're about to pitch it to the network, so we're a couple of weeks away from meeting all of the main people, and we'll see what happens."

According to Blabbermouth, Reznor said he was also interested in turning the project into a film.

Yeah I was wondering about this, sounds a little strange, but cool.

What channel would it air on?

Trent Reznor and television programming sound bizarre to me.

The whole Year Zero themed thing and marketing ploy, seemed like a really cool concept, I remember reading all the found clues and the story that went with it and thinking "this is pretty well done" but I'm not sure that turning it into a tv show would work.

I'm not sure it would work but it seems like an interesting idea. I hope it works out just cause I really wanna see it

There is a second album to come out too. Im not sure whether trent had recorded it already or when its due out.

I could see it being cool if it was just done as maybe a short-run miniseries or something, but it seems like it could get really obnoxious and tedious if they tried to push their luck.

I love the record, so obviously if done right I think it could be awesome.
