Animal Collective Squeeze in More Dates
Panda Bear DVD now available

With Strawberry Jam set for a September 11 release via Domino (the day before in the UK) and its first single, "Peacebone", coming out on August 21 (August 13 in the UK), there's not much for Animal Collective to do right now but wriggle their thumbs in anticipation of their North American tour this fall.

It's productive wriggling, though, since the band has added a Panda Bear-sized three dates to the tour since our last report. Oberlin, El Paso, and Norman: you'll get yours. AC have also shed more light on the openers for the tour, including the previously alluded-to slots filled by Black Dice's Eric Copeland and Wizard Prison, as well as support from Philly's Tickley Feather.

Finally, the free Panda Bear live DVD we previously reported is now available for order, and you can get one for yourself here. Thanks to a whole bunch of readers for the heads up.

Dates:

09-05 Boston, MA - The Roxy *
09-06 Montreal, Quebec - Le National *
09-07 Ottawa, Ontario - Bronson Centre Theater *
09-08 Toronto, Ontario - Phoenix *

you really listen to Animal Collective? doesn't seem likely.

i saw Panda Bear and ended up trancing out and kind of falling asleep because i drank way too much that night. the music was hypnotic and i was kind of ebbing and flowing in and out of consciousness. maybe this time will be better.

oh god. panda bear live and too much alcohol makes me feel very sick just thinking about it

when i saw animal collective, one of the members gf's was in the front of the audience and dancing, she was insane but good. there was no time to fall asleep! the one thing i didnt like about them live was they wernt that LOUD. maybe that was the venue or something, (i dont know anything about these things)

i am so going to see them on this tour!!

my best friend is a HUGE fan but is leaving for england on the 7th, the day before they come here. she's pretty pissed off about it. i have no sympathy though since she's going for 2 months.. jerk.

and i can't afford it after devendra tickets but i'm sure it would be an incredible show.

erm, no. they don't seem like anything typically danceable or easy to sing along to. a little more warped and atmospheric than the cure. or any other band on your concert roster

it's fair to be annoyed by someone questioning how genuine your musical interests are.

again, no. i automatically map out people's taste in music. that has nothing to do with faking "indie" cred or whatever people out there think is the untouchable cool these days.
