Is there anyone in this forum you admire or who puzzles you? What are your likes and dislikes? Do you think you are a musical elitist? What do you say when people ask you what sort of music you like? How often do you or did you go to concerts? Are you a survivor of the vinyl- cassette- hell, 8 track generation? What are your thoughts about the state of the industry? Music now versus the past? What or who do you think may be the next big thing? What do you think of file sharing? Where do you shop for music? What band or artist makes you want to snuff it? What are your "desert island discs"? Favorite song? Do you listen to the radio? I'm sure many of you have more interesting questions. So when the time comes - ask!

In a few weeks I would like to start the featured member thread again. I think it is interesting hearing about other people's experiences with and relationship to music in general. We have had really good runs in the past wherein no one was mocked for their opinions and for sharing - dare I say it - actual feelings here. So in the positive and interactive spirit of that please feel free to nominate people who you want to know more about, (or even yourself,) for the project. The nominated member may, of course, decline to participate in general, or to answer any questions with which they do not feel comfortable. In the past the mods did not want to be included because this is intended to be a communal project and we didn't want to take away from time geting to know all of you. This time you may nominate whomever you wish. Please feel free to post any questions you feel should be part of a standard formulaic form (think James Lipton) for everyone.

A featured member will be chosen and they will post answers to questions they feel are interesting and / or that mods propose. After that members may ask questions in the thread and the member will reply until the feature is finished.

I like to hear new music, so I'm all up for this, but a week is long enough.

This idea (as we used to do it) is about getting to know one another. Think of it as a "getting to know you" thread for people here where they post things about themselves and you can ask them questions about their ideas about music. Who they obsess over? What music changed them or got them through rough times. They can share amazing concert experiences. Travel stories for tours, the first album they bought, what they like that would surprise you, etc. Does that make sense?

I voted for one week or one month. I like both of those time frames, because they seem more predictable than the others. Like clockwork.

I was mildly suprised to be asked to do this once and it was ace!!

Anyway, I'm tempted to say a month cos it's cool when it's you. But I'm also tempted to say a week or two weeks so as to cram more people in!
