I fucking love old Pet Shop Boys. Love them all the way up.

I fell a little bit in love with Neil in the Always On My Mind video the first time I saw it. At about nine. I blame him for my hankering after men I cannot have issues.

I like this song, even though the sound is very a-typical 80s (for obvious reasons). It's on like every radio station's 80s Hour Lunch Break Bonanza!

I just...can't deal with them otherwise. Same with Erasure. But now hearing this song, I think it's kinda hot (I've only heard it a few times since its original heydey).

As a kid, I always thought he was singing "western girls". Since we Mer'kin children didn't know what a west end or an east end were. At least I didn't. The part that I remember loving as a kid was the soulful background singing (which I didn't know were actual lyrics until I googled). KIKI

Gakk! I don't mind Erasure as a guilty pleasure, and I can kind of see putting PSB and Erasure in the same general 'category', but PSB are definitely a way more solid group with much better songs. Except their new stuff, like debaser sez.

I'll take your word for it, haha. I guess my personal category for both groups was "very gay and very dance-y".

I should admit that I'm not disgusted by Erasure's cover of Abba's "Lay All Your Love On Me". It's tolerable and kinda fun. But I don't think I enjoy any others. My opinion's subject to change, of course.

Hey this would be a good time to ask you all which you consider to be the best PSB songs. Or Erasure even. I could be missing out.

Jonathan has a spectacular aura about Jonathan has a spectacular aura about
'Behaviour' was my favourite Pet Shop Boys album, brilliant from start to finish, especially 'My October Symphony' and the overblown pomp of 'Jealousy'. I still really like everything they did until Behaviour, then they went off the boil for ten years, but two of the last three albums have been pretty good too...

Pet Shop Boys are awesome.
I have my Very in the original orange plastic dotted case cd...even though it is a bit ratty now.

My fave is it's a sin.

The Discography is a good snapshot of earlier stuff.

Erasure did Abba-esqueand it is a fab thing!

It's great. I like a few of their other songs too, Bowie's Hello Spaceboy is incredible with their silky smooth skills attached but generally I find them really boring.
And I have a reason to dislike them, I think, which I detailed in another thread. It's sex-related.

Yesss. My fave thing ever about West End Girls is seeing a 50+ man with gray dreads to his ass growl it on karaoke night.

Erasure is like the poor man's PSB. Its like going to a gay bar; you have the intelligent twats like me in teh corner saying "why in gods name are we here, and what have i, what have i, what have i done to deserve this?" and then there are the dead common fags like I would imagine Cleetus to be on the floor dancing to some shithouse remix of "in my arms".
