| | | ladyfest hey i was wondering how many of you had ever been to a ladyfest? or even been involved in putting one on?
there seem to be more and more happening all over the UK and worldwide all the time yet to me at least the genuine 'serious' attention paid to women in music and arts in general seems to be as poor as ever
and are ladyfests attractive? do people not already deeply into diy culture etc have any interest in them?? |

| | | I went to one about seven years ago. I attended some films and shows ( Slumber Party, The Gossip, Le Tigre, Shannon Wright.) I also saw a film and speech by Cynthia "plaster Caster." I tried a crochet workshop but I am terrible at crafts. I recently volunteered for one as well. |

| | | I really wanted to go to the one in Leeds but it was on the days that I'd planned to go back to my hometown so I couldn't attend. Shame.
A girl I made friends with recently is on the committee for Ladyfest in Berlin, I think it's going to be the first one there? May be wrong though. |

| | I went to the Brighton one last year and it was pretty cool. One of my mates organises a lot of them so we saw a bunch of diff crazy, inspiring stuff and the bands were ace too. Tobi Vail was over with her band and also did a talk/discussion. Groovy stuff...i'd recommend it |

| | | the one in leicester was terrible. i worked behind the bar, and there was a bunch of singer songwriters there (too be honest not very good ones either) and one girl with dreads that smelt bad and that was about it. it was sooooo boring. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
