| | | Rilo Kiley new album news !!! Rilo Kiley return with new record | News | NME.COM
Rilo Kiley have announced they are returning with their new album 'Under the Blacklight' on August 20.
The band's fourth album is the follow up to 2005's 'More Adventures'. Each song on the album focuses on a different character and includes the tracks 'Money Maker' and 'Breaking Up'.
The record was produced by Jason Lader, and was recorded at Sunset Studios in Los Angeles.
The album marks the return of the band following individual solo projects.
Jenny Lewis released 'Rabbit Fur Coat' in 2006, while Blake Sennett recorded 'Sun, Sun, Sun' with his band The Elected. Sennett also contributed to Bright Eyes last album 'Casadanga'.
The band are expected to announce UK dates for August soon. |

This is wonderful news, though I will be in France when they tour the UK (typical) so I hope they play a date in Paris. They were great when I saw them supporting Bright Eyes a while ago.
I hope there are lots of catchy pop songs on it, maybe not so much of the slow stuff like on 'More Adventurous'. Btw, what do people think of Jenny and Blake's solo stuff? Rabbit Fur Coat was a lot stronger than the Elected albums I've heard, but Blake still writes some pretty good pop songs, just not as consistently as Jenny; I did wonder if they'd split after the solo stuff, but clearly they haven't, which is a Very Good Thing Indeed.
Is that you transcribing that's getting all the album titles wrong btw, or is it the NME? If it is you just making mistakes, you could always blame it on the NME anyway, since they are such fools that it wouldn't surprise me in the slighhtest. |

| | | I am so absurdly excited at the prospect of seeing Rilo Kiley live... I may just have to hire a car and stalk them around the country.
Except I'm a terrible driver and would probably crash into the tour bus, killing us all.
Can't wait for the album and the tour! Sun Sun Sun and RFC were both such great records and tours that I can't wait for the group to be reunited. |

| | | Yes. Rabbit Fur Coat was the best record of 2006. I only wish there would have been a few more tracks on it. I am one of those people that have been spoiled by Tori Amos putting 20 million songs on every record. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
