I still have cassettes, tons of them! My boyfriend drives an old van with a tape player, so we still buy them at thrift shops sometimes, plus I'm a huge fan of mix tapes, so I've got a lot of them around as well. I can't be bothered listing all of them, but it's mostly 90s and classic rock, with Cyndi Lauper thrown in there for good measure.

I even have a cassette tape tattooed on my arm!

I used to have an amazing selection of cassettes, but I had to leave them behind when I left Portland. Great stuff like Pale Saints, Hole, Chapterhouse, and The Smiths. Alas, all I have left are ones I had in storage.

I love the look of cassettes too.....have you seen that Paul Frank wallet that looks like a cassette tape?

I want one of those! But I've been using the same wallet since 1993, and I want to see how long it will last.

i have a bunch that i can't play anymore because they're dusty and the cassette player is dusty. sometimes, when i'm really feeling all cassette-y, i just play them in my walkman, which is also dusty but manageable. i own a lot actually. i have a camp's album in cassette, which i really should download to get it a proper listen again. i also have fiona apple's tidal, hole's celebrity skin, alanis' under rug swept, chantal kreviazuk's colour moving and still, soundtracks for the craft, my bestfriend's wedding, felicity (the first stdk), practical magic and a whole lot of other crap.

I own a Skunk Anansie tape, I think thats it.
I just read this article about the death of the tape

The days of the humble cassette tape will soon be coming to a timely end with the announcement from electrical retailer Currys that their existing stocks of blank cassettes will be sold but not replenished.

The retailer has also predicted that cassette decks will also disappear from the range in the next 18 months.

The move comes in the wake of the digital format boom, which has seen the iPod and MP3 player take over the market. Currys have said the humble cassette tape has failed to compete with digital technology, with a top-of-the range iPod holding the same number of albums as 1,500 cassettes.

The cassette tape was introduced in 1963 with sales of pre-recorded tapes in the UK peaking in 1989, when 83 million were sold. This year, total UK sales of blank tapes are expected to be below one million.

Shit, I still have over 500 cassettes in bags in my closet. Among them: all of the old Britpop stuff (Suede, Blur, Pulp), early 1990s shoegazer stuff, and also lots of personal mix tapes people made me which I kept for sentimental purposes...

Hey vegyrex, I also have "Ebbhead" on cassette as well!

I still own stacks of stuff on cassette. Heaps of extreme metal bands demos that were given to me and all of the 80s Madonna albums. I think I have the Perfect circle on cassette as well. I still own easily 20. It's odd. I did a mixed cd for one of my good friends the other week and he sent me back a mixed tape, literally a mixed cassette tape. I pulled it out of the package and it was so great because I was like 'wow, haven't seen one of these for a while'.

there was another thread about this a while back.

http://kittyradio.com/soapbox/void/2...tte-tapes.html

I still have a shitload of tapes. I never get rid of music. Well, I have on rare occasions, but I almost always regret it. I'll take a pic or something, I think I said I was going to do that in that other thread

emily, I'm pretty sure I have ebbhead on cassette too.
I definitely have at least 3 nitzer ebb tapes.
